SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

Strategy

Constructed the marketing and business plan in a start-up SME immediately increasing budgeted profits by over £390k.

Designed and delivered marketing and business plan for a Not-For-Profit enterprise including revenue generation, funding, and stakeholder management.

Created and implemented  policy and procedure documentation and systems resulting in an earlier trading, staff recruitment and business revenue. –  including employment contracts, terms of sale and purchase, staff appraisal process, financial modelling tool, sales commission scheme, environmental policy and CSR strategies.

Transformed the End-to-End customer fulfilment process in a multi-site, multi £M corporate Telecoms business customising KPI’s and reducing process time and staff. When rolled out across the whole UK it generated cost savings of over £500k .

Proposed, designed and directed implementation of a Sales Force Automation  and greatly improved effective sales activity creating direct cost reductions of over 15%  / £400k.

Commercial

Managed turnover growth from £33 to £150M over 7 years. Delivered all budgeting, planning, gross margin and capital employed; generated 25% improvement in gross margin. Reduced capital employed to all-time company lowest levels. Transformed people and processes which secured net profit growth of 10%.

Steered the commercial management team to deliver £165M of sales and service revenue. Introduced improved sales management reporting systems, and created a more expansive sales targeting methodology . Delivered all financial results to EBIT for 6 consecutive years.

Creative/Entrepreneurial

Conceptualised and supervised the creation of an integrated pricing and configuration tool within SAP R/3 – a world-wide first. Streamlined administration structure and reporting permitted improved pricing and margin control, reduced support staff and virtually eliminated technical quotation errors.

Constructed an innovative, unique and flexible remuneration system tailored to each individual staff member. This produced a personally-managed work/life balance opportunity and highly motivated personnel.

Operational

Corporate company and divisional merger of staff, budgets and systems. Successfully negotiated customer agreement’s, KPI’s and client service levels, maintained planned business results and achieved required headcount.

A key player in the establishment of a pioneering ISP business. Specific responsibility for all financial activities, processes, systems, commercial negotiations and recruitment.

Financial Director

Independent Telecommunications dealer and distributor.

  • Responsible for all financial and administrative activities for a telecoms distributor.
  • Established and registered the company and managed all revenue, costs and tax activities.
  • Secured distributor status with 4 major telecom network providers.
  • Negotiated sole distribution rights for launch of video streaming service for sports clubs and events to mobile users.

Business/Commercial Manager

Blue-chip multi-national Telecommunications solution provider.

  • Process and systems development for sales, marketing and commercial departments.
  • Corporate Accounts division – revenue of £165M, 7 sites and 18 direct staff. achieved all budget requirements.
  • Negotiated and risk managed £-multimillion telephony contracts in the banking, finance, utilities and commodities markets.
  • Southern region – 6 sites and 12 direct staff. Improved management reporting, achieved all financial targets for 4 consecutive years and won a personal Corporate Recognition Award.
